Bombhund är en tränad hund som med hjälp av luktsinnet söker efter bomber och sprängladdningar och därefter markerar läget av dessa. Utbildningen av en bombhund är lik den för en narkotikahund, men tar sikte på att lära hunden att reagera på andra dofter.

Christer Hofström är utbildad Hundinstruktör. Utbildad narkotikahundförare vid Hundskolan i Sollefteå samt Polisens hundverksamhet i Karlsborg.

Under hösten 2008 var Christer Hofström på studiebesök hos ATF i Virginia USA och deras hundutbildning, för att se hur man tränade och utbildade bombhundar.
